Alex loved the feel of his mate behind him as they drove down the road at high speeds. The wind rushing in his face, Jason pressed against his back, his mate always managed to work his fingers under Alex's many layers until they reached skin.

There hadn't been a single ride they had taken together that hadn't ended with Alex hard and aching by the end of it, especially not with Jason's perfect fingers continuously drawing patterns across his abs.

Another year had flown past and Alex had no idea where the hell the time had gone. It seemed like only yesterday that Jason had turned up on their doorstep looking for his best friend.

Jason had been through so much, and Alex couldn't believe how far his mate had come in his recovery from the horrific trauma. The nightmares had slowly dwindled down until they all but stopped, and Alex couldn't be happier. Having his mate wake in the middle of the night due to horrors Alex couldn't even begin to imagine had Alex wanting to dig up the son of a bitch and beat the ever-loving shit out of him.

Hank Marten had been tried and found guilty of multiple counts of kidnapping, rape, and a slew of other crimes. He had been sentenced to serve twenty-eight years in prison. Two months after his conviction and incarceration, they had gotten word that Hank had been killed in a prison fight that had broken out over lunch.

Alex thought it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Jason had had one of his rare nightmares the night they'd gotten the news.

Now that was all behind them as they tried to look to the future. Alex knew what he wanted in the future but wouldn't put any pressure on his mate.

After Patrick's pregnancy had been announced to the family, Alex had sat down with his father and talked about the pros and cons of letting the entire pack in on the secret of male pregnancy. They had discussed it at length and eventually decided to trust in their pack and let them know what they had learned.

To say the meeting with the big reveal went smoothly would be a gross misstatement. The reactions varied from shock to horror to utter curiosity. Alex however had gotten a solemn oath from every member of his pack not to reveal what he had been about to tell them to anyone without his express permission. He trusted his pack members and knew no one would break their vow.

Now they all seemed to want to know when Alex's mate would be having a child. They had all assumed, due to the fact he was gay, he wouldn't be having kids of his own. That had all changed with his big reveal. Alex had tried to head off the questions early, letting his pack know it would happen in time.

He hoped he'd managed to keep the enquiries from Jason. Not because he didn't think his mate could deal with the questions but purely for the fact he didn't want to put any added pressure on him.
